Finally, the River Rapids socks are finished. They were actually a much quicker knit than the blog would have you believe. I spent a large part of this past weekend listening to a book for an upcoming book club meeting and finished one and 1/2 socks.
The last toe was grafted last night during the season finale of "24". Jack - sigh. I love this heel. Surely it has a name, but I'm just calling it "My New Favorite Heel".
This is some long forgotten Lorna's Laces that has now been knit six times but finally into something I can love. And just in time because the porch is open and it's going to be 85 degrees here today. Yay!

I get that weather tomorrow!! So happy.
Love your socks -- the heel looks interesting and comfy!
I found the season finale of 24 kind of a letdown, actually. I think I became annoyed the moment Kim's cell phone went to low battery. I believe they used that ploy during the unfortunate season where Kim was, sadly, not eaten by a cougar.
Very nice socks! I have that pattern in a file waiting to be knit, and some Lornas Laces in the stash. I really like those colors.
Yay for warmer weather!
Eighty-five degrees is not yay-worthy!
Oh no! Kim is back?
Off to add Season 7 to my Netflix queue...
Jack yes. Kim ugh.
Beautiful socks.
Lovely socks :) We might watch season 7 but were a bit put off by season 6...
Gorgeous sock!
Heh, I see Jeanne's not too hopeful that I'll buy Season 7, since I haven't watched my Season 6 DVDs yet.
I think you've made an Eye of Partridge heel. Whatever it is, I love it too, and just used it on my last socks.
Agreeing with Danielle - looks like an Eye of Partridge heel.
The yarn goes well with the pattern - and its name!
Oh, poor little skein of Lorna's! It finally found a home.
Lovely socks! Yeah, it looks like the Eye of Partridge heel. It's my favorite too.
What pretty socks! Isn't that always the way, finishing the cold-weather knits in time for the heatwave?!
The thermostat police closed all the windows & turned on the AC last night. I'm going to have to get back to knitting socks so I have a summery pair for inside my own darn house.
Those are really cute, Deb! Why does everyone else's variegated yarns look so nice knit up and mine look like clown vomit?
Well the 7 th time is actually quite a charm! I love how they tURNED out. You've inspired me to reknit something!
Love your socks. I always mess that heel up. I tend to forget which row I am on. They look good.
